Kosovo's business creation rate jumped sharply in July 2026. According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK), 1,583 new enterprises were registered during the month — a 45% increase on June 2026 and 20.4% more than July 2025. Only 109 enterprises were closed in the same period.

Pristina accounts for almost half of all registrations

Geographically, the Pristina region remains the country's economic hub with 738 new enterprises, or 46.6% of the total. That concentration is mirrored in demand for industrial property services, trademark filings included.

Micro businesses dominate

The ASK figures confirm that Kosovo's economy runs on very small companies. Of the 1,583 new enterprises, 1,563 are micro businesses with up to nine employees — exactly the profile that suffers most when a competitor copies a name, because there is no legal budget to fight it after the fact.

More companies in the market means more overlapping names and logos.
