Trademark registration cost in Kosovo
Costs in Kosovo are class-based and predictable. Below is the full structure — official fees, representation, and the optional items that only apply in contested cases.
What you actually pay
Official filing fee — 250€
Payable to the Industrial Property Agency for one application covering a single Nice class. This is the baseline cost every applicant pays, whether local or foreign.
Additional Nice classes — 40€ each
Each extra class of goods or services added to the same application costs 40€. Most trading and service companies file in two or three classes to cover their real activity.
Representation by a licensed agent
Foreign applicants without a registered address in Kosovo must be represented by a licensed industrial property agent. The agent fee covers the availability search, class drafting, filing, and handling of office actions.
Availability search
A prior search of identical and confusingly similar marks. We provide this free of charge — it is the cheapest step and the one that prevents the most expensive mistakes.
Oppositions and office actions
Optional costs that arise only if the examiner raises objections or a third party opposes publication. These are quoted case by case, never bundled into the base price.
Renewal — every 10 years
Protection lasts ten years from the filing date and is renewable indefinitely. Renewal fees follow the same class-based structure as the initial application.

Are there hidden costs?

Official fees are identical for foreign and domestic applicants. Foreign applicants must appoint a licensed local agent, which is the only additional requirement.
How long does protection last?
Ten years from the filing date, renewable in ten-year terms without limit, as long as the mark remains in genuine use.
Does an EU trademark cover Kosovo?
No. Kosovo is outside the EUIPO territory, so an EU trademark does not extend there. A separate national filing is required.
